Japanese Green Tea
Green tea is a tea produced by deactivating the enzymes in tea leaves using methods such as steaming or pot roasting. This manufacturing method produces a green color and a mellow flavor.
It is a Japanese product that has been attracting a lot of attention in recent years, as it has become increasingly popular overseas and has been selected as one of Japan's priority export items.
Historical Tea Manufacturing Company KOBATAEN
Kobataen is a tea maker with a long history in Ujitawara, which is said to be the birthplace of Japanese green tea, and has been operating tea plantations since the Edo period, when there were samurai.
Techniques and knowledge have been passed down from generation to generation, and Kobaten's representative, Mr. Morita Bei, has earned the title of “Nihon-cha Kantei-shi” ( “Nihon-cha Kantei-shi” translates to “Japanese Tea Appraiser” in English), which is one of the most difficult qualifications related to Japanese tea, and is awarded to those who are recognized for their particularly high level of knowledge and experience.
Products such as matcha, sencha, and gyokuro have won numerous awards at domestic and international competitions.
Brand “teaon Kyoto”
“Teaon Kyoto” is a brand of Kobataen that was born out of the desire for people to enjoy the rich and diverse flavors of Japanese tea more easily.
Product development is handled by a “Nihon-cha Kantei-shi” of Kobataen. The tea master carefully examines the tea leaves and how to enjoy the tea without straining it, depending on the situation.
